We are launching the registration for the World Championship of Russian Language for Foreigners – a huge international contest & education event.
Once again we are bringing together teams from all over the world to offer them a place to show not only their command of Russian but also to demonstrate their best skills in expressing their points of view, negotiating, cracking mysteries and much more. You are welcome to enjoy a whole range of exciting and captivating challenges – from debates and quests to detective games and head-scratchers.
Who can join?
We welcome foreign nationals from any country. All it takes is assembling a team of 5 persons, aged 16-22, who have a command of Russian no lower than at A2 Level.
Each team is to be accompanied by a coach who must be willing to offer their support through the entire event. Any teacher of Russian or just any person aged 21 and above can be a team’s coach. We will deliver special master-classes for the coaches to tell them about the Championship rounds as well as to teach them some new teaching methodologies, team-shaping skills, and introduce them into the advanced trends in teaching Russian.
The contest is to be launched online: the qualifying round will be held in October in order to identify the potential contestants’ level of language proficiency. In December, 10 best teams will travel to Moscow (with the expenses to be covered by the organizers) to join the Final and see who is the best and deserves to be titled the World Champion of Russian Language.
This year we are introducing divisions – the teams will have to prove the best in their respective region before they advance to the Final.

The World Championship of Russian Language for Foreigners 2025 is organized by the INTEROBRAZOVANIE Center of International Education with support offered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Note
Last year, the Russian Language World Championship for Foreigners brought around over 2,000 participants from all over the world, including countries like India, China, Greece, Vietnam, Latin American countries, etc. The final was held in Tsarskoye Selo, with the team from Kazakhstan taking the top prize.
